I mentioned how I was not a good fit for the other job, but I'm not sure if I talked about getting interviews or just that I was looking for something else. Well, either way, I applied at a lot of different places and got a few interviews. I was just happy they took a chance on me, at all, which was to call and set up an interview with me, no matter what the outcome. That's not to sound negative, or pessimistic, but I like that they took a look at my resume and decided to call me and not just skim past it. So far, I did end up getting a job offer from this restoration service- office and I would be working the front desk and assisting the coordinators. I like it because it fits my personality and I feel like I have to "shelve" parts of myself to fit the role, unlike at the other place. I've always liked receptionist/ administrative assistant type jobs and I think I'll like it there because it's a cool, family-like atmosphere. They hired me because of my bubbly personality and liked that I smiled a lot and that's what they're looking for, especially when I'm one of the first faces a client will see when they walk into the building. I do have a small dilemma in not knowing what I'd do if the other jobs called with an offer because they were all pretty good jobs that I went in for but I did like that this place was quick with their response. What's funny (to me, at least) is that this is actually the "odd" job, as in, all the other jobs I interviewed with are actually in my field (Human Services) but I am more drawn to this position and I'm happy with that. Also, a plus is that it's only 7 minutes from my apartment; I definitely save gas and time going there after having to trek an hour over all the bridges to get to the other place.
